ABOUT
“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.” - Ansel Adams
Photography has been a part of my life since I first picked up a camera in high school. My first career aspiration was to be a photographer for National Geographic, but, alas, I chose a more "conventional" career direction.
My first chapter was in biomed, biopharm, with a couple of detours along the way in other industries/professions, with the last chapter of my career in healthcare technology with a focus on patient-facing solutions connecting patients with their care teams.
My second chapter is to follow my dream of making photographic art, sharing it, and have it, hopefully, invoke an emotion in the viewer. I don’t consider myself to be a "photographer" . . . I consider myself to be an artist who uses a camera as my medium. This approach gives me a degree of artistic freedom while maintaining the integrity of the subject.
There is so much beauty to be seen in this world if we only slow down and take the time to look. The beauty of God's creation is truly amazing. I am awestruck by the beauty of it all when I'm sharing the wide open spaces in northwestern Colorado with the wild horses (Mustangs) that live there or when traveling the dirt backroads of the vast plains of central and eastern Wyoming and Montana.
There is something about capturing an image that tells a story that resonates with me. My desire is that each of my images tells a story . . . the unfulfilled dreams born out of hard circumstances . . . freedom and a vanishing lifestyle represented by icons of the American West . . . grand vistas that show the immenseness of the American West.
Thank you so very much for visiting . . . I hope you enjoy my images. Please feel free to reach out using the CONTACT page . . . even if it's just to say "hi" . . . I'd love to hear from you.
